Courses

The North Somerset Domestic Abuse Forum runs standard multi-agency domestic abuse courses:

Course: Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs): risk assessment and responding to domestic abuse

For: all agencies By:multi agency

Course: Basic awareness : this is aimed at anybody who has contact with the public and may come across instances of domestic abuse but who has little knowledge of the subject. It explores the prevalence of domestic abuse, barriers to leaving and where people can go for help.

Course: “Asking the Question” : this half day course is designed as a follow-up to the basic awareness day. Participants will work to increase their confidence in broaching the issue of domestic abuse with service users and other contacts.

The forum can offer tailor-made training for specific groups of professionals.

To discuss your requirements or book a place on one of the standard courses contact the Domestic Abuse Forum using the form on this site.

In addition, many forum member agencies can provide training and speakers specifically in relation to their own agency. For details contact them direct or via the Domestic Abuse Forum.
